Zakariya ibn Muhammad al-Qazwini

A 210-leaf Persian manuscript of al-Qazwini's 'Wonders of Creation', the great medieval compendium of astronomy, angels, jinn, marvels, plants and beasts. Exhibited by NYU's Institute for the Study of the Ancient World in 2018 ('Romance and Reason'); like every handwritten copy, a unique object. Digitized by the U.S. National Library of Medicine (public domain).
