Anonymous Ethiopian scribe

A Ge'ez vellum protective scroll, 1,195 mm long, made to equal the height of its owner so the whole body was protected from demons, and illustrated with three coloured magical pictures. Wellcome records two named owners and a 1931 purchase at Stevens auction; each such scroll is unique. Digitized by the Wellcome Collection and released under its Public Domain Mark.
