Latin alchemical manuscript, 'in which all the secrets of the world are hidden', with numerous symbolic watercolours and drawings of apparatus; an owner, Michelangelo Guatani of Bologna, recorded buying it in March 1874. Unique manuscript: a handwritten codex held in the Wellcome Library's Western Manuscripts collection, so no second copy of this particular text-witness exists.
